  • No yoga experience necessary! All walks of recovery are welcome. Please wear appropriate attire. Mats will be provided.
  • Call or text our Director of Education & Peer Support, Per Hagen, at 215.380.3341 if you need more information.
  • Limited to 10 participants. This project is made possible through Opioid Settlement Fund | Bucks County, PA.
  • About your instructor:
  • Margie has been interested in all types of holistic health and wellness for the last 20 years. First exploring through her own personal study and then taking those dreams and making them come to fruition through different training programs. She completed a Holistic Health coaching certificate with the Institute for integrative nutrition in 2013. Then graduated from Rosemont College in 2020 with an MA in addiction counseling. After working in the D&A field since 2015, was finally comfortable enough in that arena to try and figure out a way to eventually overlap her love of health and wellness with helping people in recovery. She earned her Yoga teachers certificate through Open Center Yoga 2023 as a first step to accomplishing this enmeshment. She has been teaching now since graduation. After working on teaching style over the last year, finally feels confident enough to combine the two to be able to offer a Recovery specific Yoga session.
  • About the class:
  • Margie focuses on creating a peaceful calming practice that gives people the space and the time to make connections to their bodies, feelings and thoughts. Leading a slow but intentional practice helping guide participants through specific movements and positions to focus on the areas of the body we are holding onto our trauma, grief and tension, and then giving yourself permission to acknowledge and release it. We also hold some of our poses for extended periods, again giving the body and mind the attention they need to be able to release and forgive. This is a trauma informed session and gives people a place to just be – authentically.
