Recovery Yoga in the Riegelsville Park
In the hustle and bustle of life, we don’t always have the time to slow down to rest and restore. Just like we need to plug in our devices to recharge, likewise we need to do the same to rejuvenate our body, mind, and spirit. This class enables us the chance to do exactly that.
Suitable for beginners and seasoned practitioners, “Breathe Move Recover” creates a space where we can learn to relax the body; settle the mind; and soften the heart. Taught through a trauma-informed lens, these sessions teach us to connect with our breath and to stretch and strengthen our bodies. By moving with intention, we activate the processes which allow the nervous system to reset and invite a sense of calm and ease.
Starting with an accessible yoga and meditation practice, we will learn tools that we can apply to our everyday lives: practicing the pause; stress management; emotion regulation; how to handle difficult feelings and cravings; and how to transform stuck or stale energy.
We then join together for a recovery meeting which enables us the chance to come together and share our experiences, struggles, triumphs, and joys.
Yoga mats and props are provided or please bring your own. Social distancing will be observed, and masks can be removed once on your yoga mat. Bring water and snacks to nourish your body.
