Ice Climbing in the Catskills
Climbing & rappelling frozen waterfalls up to 130 feet is an amazing experience! Join Northeast Mountain Guiding‘s expert guides in a magnificent winter wonderland scaling these giants in the Catskill Mountains at Devil’s Kitchen!
What to bring: Lunch, snacks, 2-3 liters of water, sunscreen, personal first-aid items (epipen, inhaler, meds, etc.). Pack all of these items in a small backpack so you are “hands free” for the hike into the ice climbing area.
What to wear: Dress for the weather, a 3 layer clothing system is recommended. Extra gloves are always a plus. Footwear should provide adequate ankle support and be fairly rigid. Hiking and/or backpacking boots or mountaineering boot are recommended.
