This full moon and total eclipse yoga class will consist of an accessible, trauma-informed practice with a focus on meditation and breath-guided movement. This will be a safe space for us to come together for connection and healing, and we will honor the spirit of anonymity.
The full moon is a powerful healing force. It’s associated with the energy of fullness, cooling, calming and nurturing. It is a time for creating and bringing new things into the world and for honoring the creative and nurturing forces within us. It is a natural time for slowing down, cooling out, quietly observing our relationships (with ourselves and the world around us) and feeling and expressing gratitude. Year 2021 has 4 eclipses, 2 solar eclipses and 2 lunar eclipses. The upcoming eclipse season begins on May 26, 2021, beginning with a Super Full Blood Moon Eclipse. Total lunar eclipses are sometimes called Blood Moons because of the reddish-orange glow the moon takes on during the eclipse. On the day of the eclipse, the Full Moon will be closest to the Earth, so it may look a larger in the sky, making it a Blood Super Moon eclipse. Lunar eclipses are culminations of emotional cycles that have run their course, and they encourage us to let go of emotions and attachments that are no longer serving us.
