Bucks County Treatment Court Outing
Please note this is a private event for Treatment Court Participants in Bucks County.
1. Nature walk: We will explore the history of The Nature Center and surrounding grounds which have about 4.5 miles of Nature Trails which are routed through or near the various habitats. The grounds are maintained to enhance the diversity of plant and animal life. The habitats include the Coastal Plain Forest, Lake, Marshes, Unglaciated Bog, and Meadows. Protected within the park are 43 Pennsylvania Species of Special Concern. Silver Lake provides refuge for the Redbellied Turtle while the marsh is home for the Coastal Plain Leopard Frog.
2. Woodburning: Hands on guided experience. Each participant will be given a small pine box for holding recovery coins or keytags. Facilitators will guide the participants through how to use the woodburning tools safely, design creation, burning, finishing with paint or other finish.
3. Painting: hands on step by step instructions from our facilitator. We will provide a still life to paint with instructions and steps. Participants are welcome to create their own painting if they choose to.
Groups will last approx. 2hrs, followed by a wrap up recovery group. coffee, water, snacks provided.
