Intro to Rock Climbing w/NEMG

Learn the basics of outdoor rock climbing with PCGI certified guides! This is Northeast Mountain Guiding‘s most popular course and participants always go back for more! You must be 8 years of age or older to participate in this course.

The day kicks off on the ground where we’ll go over basic climbing gear, movement on the rock/climbing techniques, balance, and body positioning. The 2nd part of the day we’ll go over safety, climbing knots, belaying, climbing gear, and more. Then we’ll put it all together – climbing on cliffs of various heights & rock types! 🧗‍♀️🧗‍♂️

Meeting location: Ralph Stover State Park, PA in the “High Rocks Vista” parking area located on Tory Rd. between Stover Park Rd. and Wormansville Rd. Tory Rd. turns into dirt/gravel road after you pass Wormansville Rd. (You can Google these coordinates for the meeting location: 40.44135,-75.100308)

What to bring: Lunch, snacks, 2-3 liters of water, sunscreen, bugspray, personal first-aid items (epipen, inhaler, meds, etc.), daypack

What to wear: Dress for the weather but keep in mind flexibility for climbing. The trail to the cliff is short and steep so be sure to wear appropriate footwear for hiking.

All walks of recovery are welcome. Please wear appropriate attire; bring water & snacks to fuel your body. Climbing gear will be provided.
