Bear Mountain Butterflies

Bring your questions, cameras, and curiosity to Jim Thorpe’s one-of-a-kind hands-on education center! At Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary, you’ll experience the wonder of live butterflies and exotic reptiles in an immersive, interactive setting.

The sanctuary features an indoor “Flutterarium,” where butterflies fly freely, along with an exotic reptile room, axolotls, turtles, fish, and a dedicated kids’ art and activity space. 

PLEASE NOTE: Strollers are not allowed inside the sanctuary building due to the fire code compliance regulations.
