Volunteer at SoberPlatz!

SoberPlatz, presented by Northampton County Council and in partnership with Sync Recovery Community and ArtsQuest, returns for its second year at Musikfest 2026. This inclusive, alcohol-free space is free and located on the SouthSide of Musikfest at the ArtsQuest Campus at SteelStacks, next to AmericaPlatz and the FlyWheel.

The 43rd Musikfest is scheduled for July 31 – August 9, with a preview night on July 30, 2026. The 11-day festival features over 500 performances across 16 stages (15 are free) located throughout both the north and south-sides of Bethlehem, PA. SoberPlatz will be open all of these days during Musikfest thanks to Sync Recovery Community’s volunteers, sponsors, and donors.

Join the SoberPlatz Support Squad

SoberPlatz is a free, inclusive, alcohol-free gathering space open to everyone during Musikfest 2026. Located outdoors at SteelStacks on the SouthSide, SoberPlatz provides festivalgoers with a welcoming place to connect, relax, and enjoy engaging activities in a substance-free environment.

We’re looking for volunteers to help create a positive, supportive, and fun experience for all who visit. As a member of the SoberPlatz Support Squad, you’ll help greet guests, share information and resources, foster connection, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and included.

Whether you’re passionate about recovery, community, or simply creating spaces where people can belong, your time and presence can make a meaningful difference. Join us in helping make SoberPlatz a safe, supportive, and vibrant part of the Musikfest experience. 

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, help them explore SoberPlatz activities and offerings, and share complimentary giveaway items from Sync Recovery Community and SoberPlatz.
• Serve as an ambassador for Sync Recovery Community and share information about events and volunteer opportunities.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Assist with setup, breakdown, opening, and closing procedures.
• Secure and restore materials during weather-related events.
• Report questions, concerns, or issues to on-site staff.
• Thanks to the generosity of a community donor, volunteers will receive a $15 ArtsQuest Cash Card during their shift, which can be used anytime during Musikfest for food and beverages at official Musikfest vendor locations. 🙏😎

Volunteer Requirements

• Attend a 45-minute Zoom orientation.
• Provide your own transportation to SteelStacks.
• Be comfortable volunteering outdoors during a busy music festival where alcohol is served.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Be friendly, dependable, and enjoy interacting with a diverse group of festival attendees.
• Support SoberPlatz’s mission while enjoying Musikfest’s energy and live music drifting in from nearby stages.
