The Connected Path Forest Bathing at Lackawanna State Park

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Recovery Speakers

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Forest Bathing

Host(s): Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), and Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA)

Forest bathing is a simple practice of slowing down and connecting with the natural environment. Through a short, slow walk — or simply sitting and taking in the surroundings — participants are invited to engage their senses, find moments of calm and experience the benefits of spending time in nature. Part of Pennsylvania’s Recovery in Nature initiative, this event recognizes National Recovery Month and Suicide Prevention Month. It highlights nature as a resource for mental health and overall well-being and for individuals on journeys of recovery from substance use disorder or problem gambling.

Veterans, their families, the recovery community, and all Pennsylvanians are welcome to participate.

Lackawanna State Park is located within DDAP’s Region 9 Regional Recovery Hub. Operated by Northbound & Co., the hub serves 10 counties: Susquehanna, Wayne, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Lehigh and Northampton.
