Organizers and Volunteers Needed for Save A Life Day

Save A Life Day is the country’s largest annual free naloxone day – it grows bigger every year!

If you would like to hold an event in your County please check this link for contact information. Save A Life Day East

If your County is not represented or the contact people are Tara Calderbank and Heather Barna-Dowling, please fill out the form below.

The goal is to distribute as much Narcan and Overdose Prevention Supplies as possible to the people who need it the most while building a grassroots movement to end the overdose crisis.

Naloxone distribution sites are usually in the form of pop-up events at locations such as: busy intersections, dollar stores, gas stations/convenience stores, recovery/harm redux orgs, health departments, hospitals, local businesses, parks, churches, libraries, shelters, and more. Many counties also choose to implement outreach teams. Most events also distribute harm redux/recovery resources, anti-stigma swag, fentanyl/xylazine test strips, etc.

Sync Recovery Community and River Lotus Recovery are the Pennsylvania hosts of Save A Life Day and provide support for county organizers including Narcan and drug checking strips, monthly planning meetings, and one-on-one support. In addition to monthly multistate planning meetings, SOAR WV provides a care package including anti-stigma swag, an organizing guide, media graphics, designs for materials, sample press releases, and more!

This year, all states East of the Mississippi River are invited to participate (AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, ME, MA, MD, MI, MS, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, WV, WI + DC, Puerto Rico). Feel free to share this invitation with any of your contacts that may be interested in being a local organizer!
