Hike Hawk Mountain
Join Sync Recovery as we Hike Hawk Mountain—the oldest and largest, member-support raptor conservation organization in the world. Founded in 1934, it boasts 2,600 acres of land and is one of the best places in northeastern North America to view the annual autumn hawk migration.
Hawk Mountain is home to lots of trails and loops, all with unforgettable views. Hikers might see raptors, including hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures.
This hike (The Inner Loop) is approximately 3 miles. Some parts of the hike will be rocky and uneven while other parts will be flat. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.
Eco-therapy serves as a powerful, holistic tool in addiction recovery. Spending time outdoors on the trail with others supports healing by allowing hikers to bond over a shared effort, beautiful scenery, and physical achievement. Hiking the trails will open the senses and promote mindfulness in motion.
We will have a sharing circle at a stopping point along the hike. Feel free to visit the interactive history display, Wings of Wonder gallery, bird feeder watch station, and the Mountain Bookstore afterwards.
Don’t forget your binoculars and camera to capture the spectacular Autumn foliage. NO PETS are allowed on the trail. Please bring water, snacks, and any hiking essentials you may need.
Limited to 15 participants; each person must register separately. Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the hike.
Find Patty (in the Sync t-shirt) at the Visitor’s Center to sign in.
