Path to SoberPlatz: JL Duo – Live!

SoberPlatz returns to Musikfest for its second year in partnership with ArtsQuest. This inclusive, alcohol-free space will once again offer a welcoming place to relax, connect, and recharge during the festival. Located on Musikfest’s SouthSide at the SteelStacks campus beside AmericaPlatz and the FlyWheel, SoberPlatz is free and open to everyone. Pull up a chair, enjoy food and mocktails purchased at Musikfest, explore creative and interactive activities, visit daily sponsor tables, and maybe even catch a surprise appearance from Musikfest artists.

While SoberPlatz officially runs July 30 through August 9, we’re bringing the spirit of connection to SteelStacks early. On Friday, June 5, Sync Recovery Community and ArtsQuest present two live public concerts celebrating the power of music, recovery, and community.

The evening kicks off with the “raw and explosive” alt-rock sounds of KOSER at the Levitt Pavilion, followed by a soulful performance from JL DUO on the Community Stage. Because these events take place on the SteelStacks campus, please note that the venues are not alcohol-free zones, and alcohol will be available for purchase.

JL Duo – Live at Air Products Town Square

After KOSER lights up the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks stage, keep the evening flowing with a more intimate yet equally moving performance from JL Duo at the Highmark Blue Shield Community Stage.

Featuring the soulful vocals of Jackie Miller alongside veteran guitarist Les Reisz, JL Duo delivers a restorative blend of heart, harmony, and genre-crossing sound. A dedicated Sync Recovery volunteer in long-term recovery, Jackie weaves heartfelt originals together with jazz standards, bossa nova, and modern pop favorites, while Les brings decades of musical experience, including work on a Grammy Award-winning album. Their set drifts effortlessly from The Beatles and Aretha Franklin to Billie Eilish and Coldplay, creating an atmosphere that is both soulful and uplifting.
