Path to SoberPlatz: KOSER – Live!

SoberPlatz returns to Musikfest for its second year in partnership with ArtsQuest. This inclusive, alcohol-free space will once again offer a welcoming place to relax, connect, and recharge during the festival. Located on Musikfest’s SouthSide at the SteelStacks campus beside AmericaPlatz and the FlyWheel, SoberPlatz is free and open to everyone. Pull up a chair, enjoy food and mocktails purchased at Musikfest, explore creative and interactive activities, visit daily sponsor tables, and maybe even catch a surprise appearance from Musikfest artists.

While SoberPlatz officially runs July 30 through August 9, we’re bringing the spirit of connection to SteelStacks early. On Friday, June 5, Sync Recovery Community and ArtsQuest present two live public concerts celebrating the power of music, recovery, and community.

The evening kicks off with the “raw and explosive” alt-rock sounds of KOSER at the Levitt Pavilion, followed by a soulful performance from JL DUO on the Community Stage. Be sure to stop by Sync’s information table, where we’ll unveil the full lineup of engaging activities planned for this year’s SoberPlatz experience.

Because these events take place on the SteelStacks campus, please note that the venues are not alcohol-free zones, and alcohol will be available for purchase.

KOSER is a Philadelphia-based alternative rock band blending post-punk, grunge, and electronic textures into a style they call “galactic glitter grunge.” Formed in 2022, the five-piece act has gained regional attention for its moody yet high-energy performances and emotionally raw songwriting.

KOSER was founded by singer-songwriter Kara “Koser” Koser, whose personal journey through recovery and competition success sparked the band’s formation. The group’s members merge varied influences—from the grit of grunge and the drama of post-punk to synth-infused atmospherics—creating a sound that is simultaneously heavy and soulful. Their self-described “galactic glitter grunge” aesthetic emphasizes cinematic soundscapes paired with visceral lyricism.
