Camping: Devils Tombstone Campground from Friday thru Sunday night. Site allows 6 adults. We’ll reserve more sites if needed. Please bring a  tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment. Devil’s Tombstone is one of the oldest campgrounds in the Catskill Forest Preserve. Its location, deep in Stony Clove, surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Catskills, makes it a haven for serious hikers. The campground’s trails lead to Hunter Mountain, with the highest historic fire tower in New York State, Indian Head, and West Kill Range. This is a small, primitive campground, with wooded sites and a small, shallow lake, Notch Lake.

Caving: Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Lucas Turnpike in High Falls NY just north of Rescue Road. 41°48’41.1″N 74°10’02.0″W: Dress for the weather but keep in mind flexibility for caving. Coveralls are highly recommended. Old sneakers or boots are a great choice for footwear.

Waterfall Rappelling/Canyoneering: Sunday June 9th 9am-1pm Catskills Park, NY. Google these coordinates for the meeting location: N 42.13305 W 74.08270 This is a New York DEC parking lot called “Devil’s Kitchen Lot”. Once you park in this lot walk back down the gravel driveway you came up and your guides will meet you at the road. What to bring: No drawstring style backpacks are allowed. Trail snacks, 2-3 liters of water, sunscreen, bugspray, personal first-aid items (epipen, inhaler, meds, etc.), bathing suit, change of clothes, towel. Water shoes or old sneakers to rappel in are helpful. Pack all of these items in a small backpack so you are “hands free” for the hike into the waterfall. A drybag is a great option as to not get your belongings wet during the trip. There is no changing room/area as this trip is in the middle of the woods. You’ll have to change in your vehicle or in a secluded area.
