Pull up a chair at the tables to relax, enjoy food and mocktails purchased at Musikfest, and explore a variety of interactive, creative, and playful activities. Visit daily sponsor tables, and you never know which Musikfest artists might drop by.

For eleven days during Musikfest, SoberPlatz offers a welcoming space where everyone can gather, recharge, and experience the festival in an alcohol-free environment.

Is SoberPlatz free?

Yes! SoberPlatz is completely free and all are welcome to visit and experience all the free activities. Please note that no alcoholic beverages are allowed inside the space.

Not at all. SoberPlatz is an inclusive, outdoor, alcohol-free space open to everyone—whether you’re in recovery, supporting someone who is, or simply looking for a relaxed, alcohol-free space to enjoy Musikfest.

Absolutely. SoberPlatz welcomes the whole family, and many of Sync Recovery Community’s activities—like art projects and games—are designed for everyone, including family and friends, to enjoy together.

SoberPlatz doesn’t host its own concert stage, but it’s located right next to Americaplatz and the FlyWheel, so you can relax at our tables while live music drifts in from Air Products Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks and the Highmark Blue Shield Community Stage.

SoberPlatz runs throughout all 10 days of Musikfest including Preview Night during regular SouthSide festival hours:

  • Preview Night:  Thursday, July 30th: 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Opening Friday:  July 31st: 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays & Sundays:  12:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday:  4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.


It officially kicks off with the SoberPlatz Kickoff Hour on Friday, July 31 from 4:00–5:00 p.m.
